Q: Where is the 5K race?

A: The race is located at the intersection of Lake Forest Ave and Serrano (major intersection

is Lake Forest and Trabuco) in Lake Forest, California, 92630.

Q: What day and time is the race?
A: The City of Lake Forest Fourth of July 5K Walk/Run will start at 7:30 a.m. sharp on July 4.

Q: What is the race course?
A: The 5K (3.1miles) course begins at the intersection of Lake Forest and Serrano in Lake Forest, California. Participants will run on Lake Forest Ave from Serrano, past Toledo and make a "U" turn at Jeronimo. The "U" turn is just shy of the first mile mark. Runners and walkers continue up Lake Forest and turn right onto Toledo and continue past Ridge Route for about another 1/4 mile before another "U" turn in front of El Toro High School. After this turn, runners and walkers are approaching the 2 mile mark. Continue on Toledo back to Lake Forest Ave. At Lake Forest, take a right turn and proceed to the Finish Line at Serrano - same location as the 5K start.

Q: Is there an "early bird discount" for registration?
A: There is an early bird discount of $20 registration fee for those who register before June 29, 2007. After that date, the fee is $25. The Student rate is always $10. Lake Forest 5k Walk/Run Registration forms are available here.

Q: Can I register the morning of the race?
A: Yes, the on-site registration tables will open at 6:00 a.m. on July 4th at the corner of Lake Forest and Serrano.

Q: Is there parking and how much is parking?
A: Free parking is available on public streets at the start as well as at the Rancho Canada school, located at 21801 Winding Way, Lake Forest, CA 92630.

Q: Is there 10K as well?
A: No.

Q: Is there a children's run?
A: Although there is not a children's "run", children are more than welcome to participate at their own pace!

Q: Are there awards?
A: Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group for the men and women.

Q: What time should I plan to arrive?
A: Day-of registrants should arrive by 6:30 a.m.
Pre-registered participants should arrive by 7:00 a.m. for the group stretching.

Q: Are there raffle prizes?
A: Yes. As a registered participant, entrants are automatically registered at no additional charge.

Q: Are there race sponsorship or raffle donation opportunities?
A: Yes. Call the hotline at (949) 768-1155 and provide them with your contact information.

Q: Can my dog run with me in the race?
A: Yes, only if the dog is on a short leash and muzzle if necessary.

Q: Can I run with a baby carriage or wear roller blades?
A: Yes to both, but you must stay to the far left.

Q: Can I ride my bike in the race?
A: No

Q: Is there are senior discount?
A: No the only discount goes to students with an ID.
