Orange County 5k Races

1) Lake Forest

This event is sponsored by the City of Lake Forest and hosted by El Toro High School (ETHS) Education Boosters "Ed Boosters." All proceeds generated by the Fourth of July 5K Walk/Run benefit programs at ETHS. We support both the classroom and the campus where the needs are the greatest and where our support can touch as many of the student's lives as possible.

Ed Boosters is a committee of the ETHS Parent Student Teacher Organization (PSTO). ETHS PSTO & Ed Boosters are 100% supported by volunteer members of the community. Our committee members include parents of current students and parents whose kids graduated long ago from school.

2) Corona Del Mar

Presented by the Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce and City of Newport Beach, this event draws thousands of folks for a scenic race/walk along the enchanting streets of CDM. The race finishes along the bluffs of Big Corona State Beach with restaurant row, merchant booths and live entertainment. The Corona del Mar Scenic 5K Race, 2 Mile Fun Walk and 1 Mile Kids Dolphin Dash is a signature special event that you will not want to miss. The race has been in existence for over 25 years and is a traditional community event for all to enjoy.

3) Saddleback Memorial

The 2007 5K Run/Walk features a new and improved course! The race starts at the Saddleback Memorial Medical Center on Calle de la Louisa adjacent to the Simon Laguna Hills Mall. Runners and walkers will enter the private gates of the Laguna Woods Village for 1.5 miles and finish at the spectacular Laguna Hills Community Center. The painfully memorable hill from the old course on Laguna Hills Drive has been removed. The 5K race still features the famous live entertainment along the tree-lines streets of the Village.

4) Irvine (Southern California Half Marathon and 5k)

The Southern California Half Marathon evolved from the success that Woodbridge High School enjoyed in the staging of the famous Woodbridge High School Cross Country Classic.  The Half Marathon is staged to benefit Woodbridge H. S. Athletics and the programs provided by Families Forward (an organization dedicated to helping homeless families and families in-need re-establish themselves in our community). The growth of the Half Marathon has paralleled the growth of the Invitational.  The first year that the Half Marathon was staged by the Woodbridge Athletic Boosters, some 950 runners participated.  Over the past thirteen (16) years, the race has grown steadily to the present status (4,500 + or so runners) of one of the premier running events in Southern California.
