OC Half Marathons

1) Saddleback Memorial

The 13.1-mile point-to-point course features rolling hills, a 3-mile stretch through the Aliso and Wood Canyon Park. There is a 2100 participant limit and a 3.5 hour time limit on the race. Scenic and challenging, the paved course begins at Calle de la Louisa between the Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and the Simon Laguna Hills Mall. The race finishes at the spectacular Laguna Hills Community Center. There is a 20 minutes per mile or 4 hour time limit on the race. Enjoy the Memorial Day festivities at the Family Expo.

2) Carlsbad

This course is the fastest in the San Diego area and one of the fastest in the U.S. It starts and finishes at the same location as the Marathon; however the courses are not the same. After the starter's gun goes off, Marathoners will head to the ocean and Carlsbad Boulevard (Highway 101). You'll run south on the 101 to the turn around point at Break Water and then you'll head back to the finish line. The out-and-back course is gently rolling, with no major elevation changes. Run this course and you will see why some of the fastest Half Marathon times in the U.S. run here.

3) Disneyland

The course for this fantastic event will take runners from the Anaheim Convention Center, the largest exhibit facility on the west coast, to Disney's California Adventure® Park, celebrating California's storied past and exciting future, to the Disneyland® Park where you will explore the fantastic "lands" of nostalgia, color and delight. Then it is on to the scenic streets of Anaheim, past the Honda Center, home of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, along the Santa Ana Trail overlooking the Santa Ana River, through Angel Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and finally back through Disney's California Adventure® Park for an exciting finish of the Happiest Race on Earth! Ideal weather and a flat loop course set the stage for an exhilarating Half Marathon designed to shatter personal bests.

4) Irvine (Southern California Half Marathon and 5k)

The Southern California Half Marathon evolved from the success that Woodbridge High School enjoyed in the staging of the famous Woodbridge High School Cross Country Classic.  The Half Marathon is staged to benefit Woodbridge H. S. Athletics and the programs provided by Families Forward (an organization dedicated to helping homeless families and families in-need re-establish themselves in our community). The growth of the Half Marathon has paralleled the growth of the Invitational.  The first year that the Half Marathon was staged by the Woodbridge Athletic Boosters, some 950 runners participated.  Over the past thirteen (16) years, the race has grown steadily to the present status (4,500 + or so runners) of one of the premier running events in Southern California.
